Program
Day One
Выезд из Батуми в 8 утра (время выезда ориентировочное и может быть скорректировано), по дороге у нас будут очень живописные виды. Остановимся по пути на озере Шаори, чтобы размяться и пофотографировать.
Day One: Hike to Mount Ciora
We’ll have lunch and then head to the summit of Mount Chiora. It’s located on the Main Caucasus Range and stands at 2,386 meters. From there, we’ll have views of the Shoda-Kedela Range. We’ll see Mount Shoda from both sides.
The distance is 13 km. The elevation gain is 700 m.
Day One. Evening at Camp
After the hike, we'll set up camp, make dinner, and build a campfire.
We'll have dinner, drink tea with some tasty treats, and chat.
When it gets dark, we'll gaze at the stars; our Tour Leader Alina will lead a tour, we'll chat about space, and we'll learn how to navigate the night sky.
Day Two. Hike to Mount Shoda and a mountain lake at 2,300 m.
The round-trip hike to the lake is about 6–8 km, with an elevation gain of 400–600 meters. The lake is located at 2,300 m on the slope of a mountain that rises to 3,600 m.

We’ll hike to the lake, which offers stunning views of Shoda and the neighboring peaks, as well as views of the Rachinsky Range.
Those who wish can climb higher with one of the Tour Leaders; from there, the views are even more beautiful, including a view of the lake—but this time from above.
Day Two.
Gorge, Nikortsminda Cathedral
After the hike, we’ll drive through the beautiful Hidikari Gorge and stop to take some photos.
Then we’ll visit Nikortsminda Cathedral, which was founded in the 11th century.

We’ll return home via Lakes Shaori and Tkibuli, passing through the Nakerala Pass, where we’ll once again be treated to magnificent views.
Our itinerary has been carefully planned down to the last detail, but nature has its own way of things. Some parts of the route may be rearranged depending on the weather and other factors—so that each destination is revealed to us in the best possible light.

This flexibility allows us to make the trip even more comfortable and enriching!
When traveling to Racha, it’s not just the specific sights that are important, but the route itself. There are some truly beautiful views along the way: diverse rock formations, unnamed gorges, reservoirs, and the Nakerala Pass with its views of the valley. There are also mountain rivers with steep banks and forests.

"Medium difficulty"—what does that mean?

You can tackle these trails even without hiking experience, but you need to be in good physical shape. These are long trails with significant elevation gain. Some trails may also include technically challenging sections or steep slopes. We recommend wearing hiking boots.

You can find detailed route descriptions in the "Itinerary" section: it always includes the distance, elevation gain, and any challenging sections.

If you're still not sure whether this route is right for you, feel free to email us :)

The scale is relative; use the distance and elevation gain as a Tour Leader.

Our Tour Leaders

We're beads and seals :3
  • Alina
    Founder of t&H, Tour Leader
A biologist by education, a naturalist by calling. She’s great at organizing everyone and getting them excited about adventures.

She makes the most delicious camping oatmeal and tells stories about all kinds of plants, rocks, clouds, bugs, spiders, and birds. She loves seeing the spark of curiosity in people’s eyes and giving hugs.
  • Artem
    Founder of t&H, Tour Leader
The best driver in Georgia, according to our tourists. He loves exploring life and new routes, and hiking high up in the mountains (and he’ll drag you along with him).
  • Natasha
    Tour Leader
    Hiking instructor.
A fan of mountain and ski trips. She loves to hike long distances, run, explore new places, and take beautiful photos.
  • Yaroslav
Tour Leader driver on some itineraries
An avid traveler, rescue worker, and avalanche safety engineer, he has worked as a mountain Tour Leader in the Khibiny Mountains and is currently working in Svaneti and Megrelia. He enjoys playing the guitar and singing.
  • Vova
Tour Leader driver on some itineraries
He’s been hiking since he was 15.
He loves nature and the mountains, both new and old trails, sitting by the campfire at night, and sleeping in the mornings :)
He used to be a Tour Leader on water-based expeditions; now he’s into professional mountaineering and arboriculture, and leads you on trails.
  • Anya
    Tour Leader
A geographer by education, a photographer at heart, and Tour Leader calling. A geography teacher who ran away from class to the Far Eastern taiga to be with the bears—and ended up staying there :)
On a hike, she knows two main secrets: how to find a beautiful view and how not to lose yourself during a rest stop.
She loves trails with views, people with a sparkle in their eyes, and photos that capture the essence of the moment.
“On a hike with me, it’s warm, peaceful, and always authentic 🤍”
  • Fyodor
    Tour Leader
He went on his first hike at age 11—with a cotton-padded sleeping bag and his grandmother’s sweater.
He has experience with winter, water, and mountain hikes of varying difficulty levels. He loves wild trails, swamps, rhododendron thickets, spending the night in a snow den, trail races, boxing, and swimming in icy water.
On hikes, he values good spirits, the beauty of the wilderness, humor, pushing his limits, and hot tea after a long day of hiking.
  • Masha
    Tour Leader
A child of the plains and marshes, I’ve dreamed of living in the mountains since I was little and used to imagine that the clouds on the horizon were snow-capped peaks.
I’m thrilled by every little spider and leaf, and I try to share that excitement with those around me. For me, nature is my natural habitat :)
I can turn even the most boring walk into an adventure.
“Wait, let me take a picture”—that’s my life motto; I capture all the coolest moments through my lens.
  • Arvidas
    Tour Leader Naturalist
He sees something interesting where most people just walk right by.
He spent his childhood in the semi-deserts of Kazakhstan and the forests of Belarus, and two summers in the tundra beyond the Arctic Circle. For many years now, he has been exploring Georgia’s nature, searching for rare species of plants and animals, pursuing his passion for macro photography, and turning an ordinary hike into a small expedition. If he comes across something unusual along the way, it will most likely become one of the day’s most vivid memories.
